Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description
A blue star 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in diameter on a white background within a red border 1/4 inch (.64 cm) in width forming a Moorish arch 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Symbolism
The Moorish arch is representative of the area where the Command was first operational.  The colors red, white and blue are the National colors.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 16 September 1943.
